20th July – 13th October ‘Turning the Tide’ occupies many of the Georgian rooms of Sherborne House: The Red Room, The Purple Chamber, The Green Damask Room and the Art Room. A monumental monoprint can be found in the atrium stairwell near the lift and a 3D model of the Jurassic Coast is in the Art Room.
All the paintings in the exhibition feature the south coast of England, from North Devon all the way round to Kent, illustrating classic geological features that have an intrinsic beauty which derives directly from erosion, resulting in a wide variety of landforms, beaches, landslides, arches, cliffs and coves.
