Marbling is the art of floating pigments and dyes on water, and transferring those patterns onto paper. Here the mobility of the water and suspended pigments create amorphous shapes and patterns. It is possible to transfer these forms onto the same paper more than once, thus layering and deepening the marbled pattern and creating greater luminosity of colour.
